Work-Life Balance… Impossible! Or Is It?

What do you think of when you see the words: work-life balance?

Most of us are pretty immune to the phrase, these days, as it’s splashed all over magazine covers. It’s usually paired up with other seemingly impossible goals such as how to:

  • keep your closet organized
  • master crow pose
  • lose those last 10 pounds
  • make a healthy, vegan, gluten-free, decadent and delicious dinner (that no one will complain about) in 20-minutes
  • get your kids into the best college

…all while saving for a fabulous retirement in an exotic location!

You’re pretty sure that like those other far fetched fantasies, work-life balance is the unicorn of life.

It’s the unattainable promised land that no one can find on google maps or get to by Uber! We know, you’ve heard it before. You’ve glazed over just reading the words. Work-life balance doesn’t exist, why bother trying. It’s an oxymoron. It’s impossible.

You’re probably thinking that adult life is supposed to be hard, stressful, overwhelming and exhausting. Didn’t we get the memo?

This is the chronic stress story we’ve all subscribed to as normal life. And many think that, although mindfulness sounds great and all, it’s just one more fantasy.
