Meet Our Director of Yoga

Sylvie Piquet RYT has been graced with the opportunity to work with Kristen Race and join the Mindful Life team. Sylvie feel in love with the Mindful Life Yoga for Kids method while applying it in schools teaching kids ages two through eleven. Now she is enthused to share the Mindful Life method via instructor trainings for educators, counselors and care-takers making use of her Level 4 Mindful Life Yoga for Kids Certification.

Sylvie has been practicing yoga since 2005. She graduated from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in Gender and Women's Studies and Education Studies. She completed the Shiva Shakti School of Yoga Teacher Training (Hatha style) in Rockland, Maine and now teaches as a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. She enjoys teaching group and individual yoga classes for people ages 2 to 100!

In the summer, Sylvie is the Camp Director at Camp Beech Cliff, an outdoor education day camp for kids located in Mount Desert, Maine.

Sylvie's passion is social and mindfulness education with kids. Mindful Life Yoga for Kids has opened her eyes to the important role mindfulness and yoga play in developing the prefrontal cortex of the brain and decreasing stress in kids' lives.
